The "Cow Parade"

The “Cow Parade” is a movement that was created in Zurich in 1998 by the artistic director Walter Knapp. An international exhibition that has been shown in big cities all over the world. This exhibition took all the fame and international character that defines it when the bussiness man Peter Hanig organised an event in Chicago in 1999.

Is an artistic movement a bit peculiar. This is obviously fiberglass sculptures shaped cow that are painted and designed by local artists adorn parks, avenues, stress...
To carry out the exhibition takes place a competition among artist, both professional and amateur, city or region: painters, sculptors, architects, designers... Then the sponsors are responsible for selecting the exposure to form. When this ends, the cows go to auction for collectors, museums, individuals, etc...

This movement is not new, it is now a classic. Spain has held four exhibitions: Barcelona in 2005, Madrid in 2009, Vigo 2007 and in 2001 Bilbao. This supposed an example of the best marketing to publicize the art of different artists either renowned or amateurs. Below we saw you an images of the "Cow Parade" in different cities of the world.
